Members introduced themselves and were welcomed to the second SHAC meeting of this academic year.
Discussion of best way to identify areas of interest
Reports of College councils feedback:
Five members reported on the areas of interest expressed to them. Most common were the following: mental health, sick “kits” for students, insurance information, sexual health information. The idea of having a couple days of tabling with info on some of the areas of interest was mentioned as a way to address in a small way, several issues.
Further discussion of “sick kits” that could be given to students. Student Health has already done something similar; Pat Grillo will give members info on what the kit contained, and pricing of the items.
Discussion also included having someone from Insurance come to a future SHAC meeting to give plan overview and answer questions.
Next meeting will be January 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Student Health Conference Room #225.
