Introductions: Members introduced themselves.

College Council Presentations Update: Lupe reported that she and a student rep from the ATOD peers attended the College Council meeting at 4 of the 6 colleges. The first two they attended at Warren and Marshall provided to be a discussion of the issue, but that was as far as it went. Before the next pair of presentations at Warren and Marshall, the student team surveyed vendors in the area to see who sold tobacco products and for how much. They found that many vendors in the area sold tobacco - Liquor Store, Deli, Savon, Ralphs, but that Trader Joes and Whole Foods had made a conscious decision not to sell tobacco products because they felt that it did not support the mission of their store.

During the presentation they were informed that just the night before AS had passed a resolution not to allow restrictive language on any contracts. They will still present to the other two colleges. Lupe asked Revelle student (Brooke) and Muir student (Mark) to let her know when in Spring quarter she and a peer could present to the college councils.

Draft SHS half sheet - Copies of the updated draft that Pat did of the SHS info sheet were distributed. Important academic dates were added as well as a student-drawn map of where SHS is on campus. Ideas of how to distribute were discussed. In addition to one for each new freshman and transfer student, the committee came up with a list of other places to distribute. Also, making a poster size of the sheet was discussed to distribute to primary locations.

Other Items / Concerns -In deciding where next to focus our efforts many in the group were interested in doing something in the area of nutrition, maybe in conjunction with the SHA Spring Wellness event. More discussion on this at the next meeting in Spring.

Schedules/Spring meeting planning -From the members present, it looks like the best time is going to be 11:00 on Monday, but we will wait until we get everyone's schedule to decide. We will most likely have our first meeting 3rd week in Spring.
