Everyone was welcomed and the minutes of January 31, 2007 were approved and signed.
Debbie Pino Saballett distributed copies of a UCSD Environmental Scan on Smoking. The committee discussed scanning strategies and assigned the following areas to those present:
Amir Khan - ERC, Library
Todd Miyake - Sixth, Center Hall
Annie Maltester - Muir, Student Coop, Peterson, Solis
Arian Mashhood - Revelle, Price Center
It was noted Arian Mashhood would be in Costa Rica during Spring quarter, so other members (not present) will be asked to look at Revelle and Price Center
When scanning students should look for:
-popular places where students smoke
-where the ashtrays are
-any signage about smoking
-where possible signage might be placed
Next meeting: (TBA). All members were asked to forward their schedules to Debbie (dpinosab@ucsd.edu) so a meeting time can be established.
