Introductions:
Mark opened the meeting with introductions.

SHS Update:
Dr. Buchman gave a short summary of the accreditation saying that we have not received official notice yet, but it seems that SHS did very well. He also talked about the new on-line services and asked if anyone had tried to make an appointment or refill a prescription on-line. Several members had, with success.

Web-site Review and Feedback:
Several members gave feedback that they had gathered from suitemates and others (Christine Nguyen turned in written feedback, since she was not able to make the meeting).

The following was offered as feedback on the site:

  • What are the types of things that students want to find or accomplish on the SHS web-site?
  • Clinic hours
  • Insurance coverage information
  • What services are offered
  • Fees
  • How to help someone in an emergency
  • SHA Volunteer and Officer description
  • SHA service descriptions
  • A map to the clinic
  • Summer information on using the clinic
  • Who is eligible to use the clinic
Were you able to find what you were looking for on the site, is it easy to navigate? -Yes, easy to find almost everything. -Would like additional after hours information and how to help in an emergency (we are currently working on this) -SHAs should have their own web-site (we are working on expanding the SHA link on our site and will soon have lots more SHA info on line) -It is not clear that SHS is available to all students.

It was suggested that during the first week of school each quarter we put a big banner outside of SHS, saying "Open to all Students".

SHAC Survey:
After some discussion, it was decided to do a short "Non-Users Survey" on Library walk during the Wellness Event on Wed. 5/26. It was also suggested to do a survey in the clinic during a one week period, asking students about their knowledge and use of the website.

Day/Time/Place of Next Meeting:
Next meeting will be Thurs. May 13th at 1:00 at the trailer. Draft surveys will be reviewed at the next meeting, and SHAC members will sign-up for times to conduct surveys on the 26th.
