  • Members were welcomed and Minutes of April 16, 2007 meeting were approved and signed.
  • Annie and Kenneth gave feedback on their assigned campus areas, noting the following:
    -popular places where students smoke
    -if it is at least 20 feet away from any building
    -where the ashtrays are
    -any signage about smoking
    -where possible signage might be placed
  • Still waiting on the following areas:
    Amir Khan: ERC, Geisel Library
    Todd Miyake: Sixth, Center Hall
    Aria Jafari (for Arian Mashood): Revelle, Price Center
  • Debbie reported about the process for additional signage on campus, and the possible moving and/or addition of ashtrays. This is handled by the Grounds/Landscaping Dept. and orders can be submitted online.
  • Discussion of the information sheet given to all incoming students which will be updated for Fall 2007. Members were asked to review and make suggested changes. For those absent, a pdf version will be emailed.
  • Discussion of work projects for 2007-2008 year. Previously suggested were:
    Nutrition/Healthy Eating
    Sleep
    Stress
    Mental Health

    Stress appears to be a major concern. We can look at doing workshops in coordination with Psych Services; survey on SHS website; advertise on TritonLink. Annie mentioned need to remember commuter and transfer students.
  • There will be no further meetings this quarter. If members can forward their fall schedules (8th or 9th week) to Debbie (dpinosab@ucsd.edu), we can plan a fall meeting.
