There are many health benefits when you include physical activity in your daily routine. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, physical activity reduces your risk for cardiovascular disease, weight gain, Type 2 diabetes, and some cancers.
Research has also shown that participating in regular physical activity helps reduce stress and depression, and can also boost your self-esteem.
In 2008, the The Department of Health and Human Services updated physical activity recommendations. Click here for more information: www.fitness.gov/be-active/physical-activity-guidelines-for-americans/
