In order to maintain excellent visual health, a yearly eye exam is suggested. We offer a comprehensive exam that includes glaucoma screening, visual field testing, slit lamp examination, dilation and refraction.

Contact lens exams are also available. This includes the initial exam, trial lenses, teaching session, and follow-up visits. A special exam is required for contact lens astigmatism. Our staff will provide personalized fittings to assist you in selecting your contact lenses or frames.

Prescriptions

Prescriptions from outside providers are also welcomed. Just bring in or fax (858) 534-4749 your prescription. An eye exam may be required depending on the date of the prescription. Appointments are not necessary to process current prescriptions. A visit with one of our optometrists does require an appointment.

To facilitate the check-in process, print the Patient History Questionnaire, complete, and bring with you to your visit.

IMPORTANT! Students who do not keep their appointment and do not cancel four (4) hours in advance will incur a $15.00 "No Show" fee to their student billing account. If you are late for your appointment, it will be rescheduled.

Hours

During academic quarters: Mon/Wed/Fri: 8am-4:00pm; Tue & Thu: 9am-4:00pm. We are closed on weekends and all University holidays.

Parking at SHS

Please be aware that SHS has two patient parking spaces for emergencies only. These spaces are designated for severely ill or injured patients. Parking permits will be issued by SHS personnel to patients who meet these criteria. If you park at SHS without a permit, you will be responsible for any citation or towing expenses.
