Student Health Service provides a full range of primary care services. Most services require an appointment, which can be made online or through Central Scheduling (858) 534-8089. There is no charge for primary care appointments for registered students.
Our board-certified family practice and internal medicine physicians and our nurse practitioners can manage most general medical problems, and provide health maintenance care. See the link above,"Our Staff" for biographies and photos.
It is usually in the patient's best interest to stay with one health provider when there are any ongoing medical conditions. Our providers will make appropriate referrals to outside specialists.
General office visits are appropriate for most ongoing conditions, follow-up visits, STD checks (without symptoms), and contraception prescriptions. Routine annual gynecological exams require a longer Annual Exam appointment (see the Men's Health and Women's Health pages for more information).
Same-day appointments for more urgent problems are available only by telephone. Call (858) 534-8089 early in the day for best availability.
Refer to the Cost of Services page for fee schedules.
Physical exams for employment, DMV, or school applications must be scheduled through Central Scheduling (858) 534-2918). These exams require longer appointments and there are fees for such exams.
Education Abroad and General Travel appointments must be made directly through Group I (858) 534-2918.
