UC Smoke-free Policy
UC San Diego, along with all the UC campuses, will be a Tobacco and Smoke-free campus by January 2014. UC San Diego's date to go Tobacco and Smoke-free is September 1, 2013. This will contribute to a healthy environment for all staff, students, faculty and visitors.

Smoking Cessation Counseling
If you are a student and a smoker who would like to quit, Student Health Services can help. You can make an appointment with a Health Educator at Student Health Services by calling (858) 822-5926. Smoking cessation appointments at SHS are free, and cessation aids are available.
If you prefer phone counseling to help you quit, call the California Smokers' Helpline at (800) NO-BUTTS.
Prepare to Quit Smoking Workshops
If you are thinking of quitting, plan to attend a "Prepare to Quit Smoking" workshop led by a trained health educator who can assist you in determining your readiness, making a plan and QUITTING! No appointment is needed. Smoking cessation aides are also available.
Dates will be posted at the start of Fall quarter.
