Urgent Care and First Aid

Students may be seen on a walk-in basis for illness and injuries that require more immediate attention. Examples include possible broken bone, acute ankle sprain, severe headache or other severe pain, high fever, cuts (including those that may need stitches), and shortness of breath. Refer to the Cost of Services page for co-pays and fees.

A registered nurse can evaluate cold and flu symptoms and give health advice in most cases (no charge for registered students unless a referral to an Urgent Care provider is required). Cold symptoms do not require a clinic visit and can be managed with self-care measures (see our Cold Self-Assessment to find out if this applies to you).

There is often a 1 to 2 hour wait in Urgent Care and First Aid. Patients are first evaluated by a registered nurse, and are then seen by a provider in order of medical severity.

Same-day appointments are available at no charge for registered students and may be an alternative for many problems. Call our appointment desk to see if a same-day appointment is available and appropriate for your condition.
