In order to make an appointment with one of our dietitians, you will need a referral from your primary care provider at Student Health Services, your psychiatrist at CAPS, or a Health Educator in Health Promotion Services.

    Taylor Lewallen (she/her) earned her B.A. in dietetics from Central Michigan University, where she was also a student athlete on the softball team. Taylor is originally from Phoenix, Arizona but has lived in NM, AZ, NJ, MI, and PA. She spent time in her life suffering from an eating disorder, so she knows firsthand what that feels like. Her passion is to help young adults learn about the connection between their mind and body so they can feel amazing inside and out. Taylor is a HAES and intuitive eating aligned dietitian that focuses the attention on attainable health promoting behaviors. She loves to play and watch sports, hike, relax on the beach, spend time with friends, family and dogs, travel, or just watch a good show!

    May Rees (she/her) earned her B.S. in Clinical Nutrition from University of California, Davis. After moving to San Diego, she went on to pursue an M.S. in Nutrition for Wellness at Bastyr University, California. Following her graduate studies, she completed a distance dietetic internship through Iowa State University. She then began her career at Center for Discovery San Diego Outpatient, working in the adolescent eating disorder treatment setting. May is passionate about integrating intuitive eating principles and maintaining a holistic perspective in her work with clients. She strongly aligns with Health At Every Size® (HAES) and strives to provide compassionate, individualized care to each and every person with whom she works. In her free time, you can find May enjoying live music, gardening, traveling, cuddling with her dog, and spending time in the sunshine.

  • Kara Sansone

    Kara Sansone

    Registered Dietitian

    Kara received her M.S. in Nutritional Science at San Diego State University. Following her graduate studies, she completed a distance dietetic internship through Iowa State University. She began her career as a Clinical Dietitian with Rady Children’s Hospital and Sharp Healthcare. Kara strives to use integrative and intuitive eating health principles to implement nutrition goals in a way that is flexible and sustainable. She emphasizes a healthy balance between the science of nutrition and finding enjoyment with food.  She is excited to join the Student Health Services team and serve the university population. In her free time, you can find Kara traveling, hiking, going to the beach, skiing, and spending time with her husband and two children.
